SEO for Therapists

SEO for therapists who want clients, not clicks.

SEO for therapists improves how a practice is discovered in search. It combines accessible website pages, clear services and locations, accurate business information and useful content. Moonraker checks those foundations, implements the agreed work and measures search activity and inquiries. Rankings and new-client numbers are outcomes to measure, not promises.

What should a therapy practice fix first?

Start by checking that your important pages can be crawled and indexed. Then make each service page explain the concern you help with, who provides the service, the location or telehealth area, and the next step. A page that says only "personalized care" leaves those decisions unanswered.

For example, an EMDR page can explain which clinician offers EMDR, link to that clinician's qualifications, describe the appointment format, and show how to ask about availability. This is an example of useful page structure, not a claim that one wording guarantees a ranking.

Does the same work help Google AI search?

Google says its AI search features use the same foundational SEO practices: accessible content, useful internal links and reliable information. There is no required AI paragraph length or special schema type. See Google's AI search guidance.

Our selected results gallery shows Search Console comparisons and explains its sample. Those search results are different from AI citations. Our AEO approach explains how we keep website checks and observed AI answers separate.

Give each important search a useful destination.

A group practice might need an EMDR service page, a biography for the clinician providing it and a location page explaining where appointments happen. Connect those pages with descriptive links. For telehealth, state the areas where the clinicians can actually work, rather than implying that online appointments are available everywhere.

Before adding another article, check whether an existing page already answers the question. Our content-marketing guide shows how to turn client questions into a manageable page plan. The Page Clarity tool can help spot pages competing for the same purpose.

An audit, ongoing work or a new website?

Foundation is a 90-day program on your current website, with the agreed changes and monthly reporting. Visibility Growth adds new landing pages over six months. Practice Growth 365 runs for twelve months and can include a new website and page plan. Compare the current options on the Services page and the boundaries on our scope page.

Existing platforms can still support useful improvements. Start with the actual constraint: missing service information, an inaccessible page, inconsistent listings or a difficult booking route. A platform move should solve a demonstrated problem. See our guides for Squarespace and WordPress.

What should an SEO report show?

Ask for the date range, the pages and searches being measured, the changes completed and the next priorities. Search Console clicks show visits from Google Search; impressions show appearances in search results. Neither establishes that an appointment was booked. Compare inquiries separately and record gaps in tracking.

Our results gallery contains selected comparisons, with their comparison periods and sample explained. For a worked example of page structure, read how practice information connects a website, its people and its services. These examples help you assess the work without treating another site's results as a forecast for yours.

Practices in different markets also need accurate local context. Read SEO for therapists in Australia or SEO for therapists in Canada for the relevant service coverage and considerations.

What practices ask us.

How long does SEO take for a therapy practice?

There is no fixed ranking timeline. Our programs run for 90 days, six months or twelve months with monthly reporting, and none of them promises page-one rankings by a set date. Progress depends on your starting point, competition, implementation and search-engine processing.

Do we have to move our website?

No. Foundation and Visibility Growth improve your current website and platform. A new site is an option within Practice Growth 365.

Do you buy backlinks or run ads?

Neither. The work is organic and owned: your website, your Google presence, your professional footprint. If ads ever make sense for your situation, we will say so honestly.
